Audi Q2: a competitor for the Mini Countryman Geneva

According to our British colleagues of Car, Audi would recently reach an agreement with the Fiat group, allowing it to use the Q2 and Q4 names on upcoming models. Recall that in Italian, these names designated for the Alfa Romeo brand four wheel drive versions (Q4) or with a mechanical locking differential (Q2). Of course, there is no doubt that the turnaround of the manufacturer of Turin (the demand for Audi had initially been denied early 2015) has had to operate for a fee, for which the company sorely needs today.

Thus, it was expected under the designation Q1 Q2 should eventually be named. This will definitely to justify a slightly higher investment range than the urban A1, but also leave room for an eventual Q1 even smaller after that (perhaps a shortened version three doors, same to Crosslane Coupe Concept 2012 that illustrates the article). This new Q2 logically placed facing the Mini Countryman, becoming the second premium urban crossover market. Based on an evolution of the MQB platform, that team now pull most recent models of the group (the Audi A3 to the Skoda Superb), it should display a length of between 4.10 m and 4.20 m.

Although most versions will tractions, the Quattro transmission will be available with larger engines. Among the proposed mechanical, we should get together with the other three cylinders 1.0 TFSI 95 hp and 150 hp 1.4 TSI petrol and three-cylinder 1.4 TDI 90 and 105 hp diesel. It could even be a sports version SQ2, with the mechanics of the S1 (2.0 TFSI 231 hp) makes its appearance a little later, just to compete with the John Cooper Works Countryman. We should logically discover this new Audi Q2 at the Geneva show while the marketing would start by summer.
