Lexus has taken the squashing off a revived 2014 CT 200h at
the Guangzhou Motor Show held at China, update the car for the first time since
its debut as a 2011 model. It also appeared at the LA Auto Show.
The major visual change is, of course, the adding of the new
corporate front fascia, which Lexus refers to as the "spindle
grille." new changes on the outside consist of a choice of new 16-inch and
17-inch alloy wheels featuring a 10-spoke design. The CT 200h has been treated
to a redesigned rear bumper, the mainly noticeable changes being the black
lower center section and L-shaped reflector housings.
The Lexus CT 200h currently exists in any of six body
colors, including a new red color option. Lexus is also hoping that the adding
up of a two-tone paint option featuring a black roof coupled with a body color
of your choice will get noticed by the buyers.
At the inner side, the CT 200h has established a new
14.6-inch diameter steering wheel, as well as a 4.2-inch Thin Film Transistor
Optitron instrument panel, which can be connected to the car's infotainment
system and also prohibited by steering wheel-mounted switches. And also premiering
in the CT 200h revive is the next generation Remote Touch Interface system,
which Lexus promises will be more user friendly. The sound system has also been
enhanced with the introduction of the world's first bamboo loudspeaker
technology, combining bamboo fiber, plant opal, and charcoal to generate the
industry's thinnest loudspeaker diagram. The system promises to offer visibly better
sound quality.
Lexus also improved the CT 200h's body stiffness through extra
spot welding and also through the use of structural-adhesive technology. The improved
body firmness has also permitted Lexus to tweak the suspension, include the
addition of a new shock-absorber valve and new coil springs.
A new CT 200h F Sport has also hooked at the Guangzhou Motor
Show, with the car being a sportier edition of the CT 200h. This means a little
altered mesh-grille design, tweaked fog-lamp housings and a roof spoiler. The F
Sport version of the CT 200h will also feature 17-inch wheels distinctive to
this model, as well as a choice of nine exterior colors, with White Nova. Tuning
suspension with firmer coil-spring settings and optimized front/rear
roll-rigidity distribution, maybe the biggest difference in which a dash of
sportiness should added.
Pricing has so far to be released for the 2014 model, but we
don't expect it to stray too far from the $32,945 starting price of the 2013
model.
