Honda
has declared that an all-new range of turbocharged VTEC engines. The latest arrangement
includes 1.0-litre, 1.5-litre and 2.0-litre engines that will shortly power
small and medium-sized cars in Honda’s range.
There
are three-cylinder configuration in 1.0-litre engine that will deliver healthy
125bhp and 200Nm via straight booster turbo charging. The engine will be used
to rule the next-generation Jazz, the future new City sedan, Mobil MPV and even
the compressed SUV.
The
four-cylinder 1.5-litre unit will push heavy 201bhp and 260Nm and is liable to
find place below the hood of the Honda Civic as well as in the entry version of
the Accord. We are yet to get the accurate specs of the 2.0-litre unit, but it
is mostly built for presentation.
We
are mainly fascinated in the 1.0-litre mill, as it is to be expected in finding
application across Honda India’s range. Though there won’t be any instant
changes for Indian cars, the 1.0-litre unit will rule the new Honda City,
Mobilio and the Jazz in the upcoming months. The Japanese car manufacturer may
also consider for using the same engine with no turbocharger for the Brio.
Honda
is so far to confirm when each of these engines will be introduce, but it seems
looming that the smallest capacity units’ introduction with the new cars that
will go on for sale in the next 1year.
