Renault opened its first factory in China

The President of Renault and CEO of Renault, Carlos Ghosn and the President of Dongfeng, Zhou Gianfengk, inaugurated the factory of the French company in China, the Wuhan area.

This plant was constructed in just two years and includes a car assembly plant, an engine factory and the center of Research and Development. It will have an initial annual production capacity of 150,000 vehicles, which has the potential to double to 300,000 vehicles. The joint venture Renault-Dongfeng Automotive Company (DRAC) established on December 16, 2013, and a year later, the company employed about 1,000 workers, while at the end of 2015, the workforce totaled 2,000 employees. The first vehicle to built in this factory is Kadjar, which equipped with different equipment than the model released in European markets, and includes panoramic sunroof, the system 4 Control, and independent rear suspension. It should be mentioned that the SUV category represents 30% of the Chinese market, and it is the fastest growing segment, increasing its sales by 53% in 2015.
